Jackie Ostrenko is a painter and stage designer. He works in techniques of oil, water-colour, gouache, acryl and pastel crayon; he also creates masks and puppets. Jackie got his first professional art education at Donetsk Art School and later continued studying at Grekov Art College in Rostov-on-Don (graduated in 1986). During the Soviet times Jackie was working as a painter and art teacher, stage and graphic designer. After the collapse of USSR he was working as a freelance painter exploring the existentialist issues and reflecting the realism of the Post Soviet change in Ukraine. During the last years Jackie has been drawing his main creative inspiration from the art of dance. He has been actively attending dance and theatre workshops in order to deepen into the essence of performer’s artistic soul and his creation. At the moment Jackie is also collaborating as a stage designer with Donetsk Regional Puppet Theatre (Donetsk, Ukraine).

Hello Jackie, (this is an easier name for me!). Very expressive and beautiful paintings!!! Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seing, how your art develops after the workshop. Sergey and meeting this group in Donetsk was a very big experience for me and I feel extremely inspired for my own work in Copenhagen after this. All the best to you and stay in touch.
